Holiday season is here, there will be a lot of waiting and awkward moments. As a graphic designers we need to keep ourselves occupied with activities but still enjoying the holidays. These games will keep yourself busy when your loved one’s not looking.
1. Colors
Match colour with your common knowledge about colour terms such as analogous, complementary and tetradic.
2. Kern Type
Simple word kerning game. You can move the middle letters until you feel the letters can breathe equally, compare button to see how well your kerning eyes.
We do hate Comic Sans, this game is a shooting game where you aim at the word “Comic Sans” in the same font.
This game is literally a fighting game between the alphabet Arial and Hevetica. You can use your cursor to bump or jump on the letter. The winner will be decide which team has most remaining characters.
5. Shape Type
Illustrator users will be happy to play this game, if you like to use the pen tool this game should be easy for you. The hard part is, you need to know how each given font face looks like.
6. X-Rite online Color Challenge
This is a drag and drop colours and arrange the colours to form seamless gradient from end to end.
7. Pixactly
This is skill test for designers on sizes. You have to draw height and width pixels on black space. You will see the result if you’re better in identifying sizes.
You must have humming that one track from Bob Marley when you saw this game. In this game you have to know your serif and sans serif fonts, identify the serif font from the sans serif font and simply shoot it.
9. Ragtime
This is another kerning game, but this one is more arranging layouts and paragraphs.
